Managed to get to the finish of my first proper stage rally as co-driver without a ding on the car, but plenty of moments! Everything was spot on, apart from getting lost in the notes, and the road book, and being sick before the last stage.

Best part about it was the lad who I sat with did 8 rallies and only finished one, this was his first rally of the year and he finished it. We finished 4th in Class 6 (2 litre 8v) and joint 24th overall at the end, at the halfway point we were 32nd overall and joint on time with an Evo 6.

Big thanks to Arranmore Ferry and Costello Disco's for jumping onboard with us to get the last few hundred we needed to get to the rally!

Few photos of us, my helmet is the bright green Stilo.

Rough Stages!

I was only sick once, on the start line of the final stage. Maybe the weight loss helped, we set our best time of the rally on that stage. Beat all sorts of cars!

I don't really mind, I'd like it as a job but would far prefer to be a driver. I'm about 85% of the way to getting a full-time seat in a Honda Civic Type R in the National Championship over here.

Can't start competitively driving until your 17 over here, I tried karting before but didn't like the atmosphere, I was good at it but left cause of that. Still test every now & then mind.

Nope, not serious at all mate. Well, we took it seriously like but it was good craic. When we came into the TC we had the craic with the marshals until our minute was up, then we handed over the timecard & moved on.

Atmosphere was class, everyone was so friendly. Frank Kelly (big time driver over here, blue Mk2 Escort) came over & had the craic with me after the driver's briefing. Imagine how I felt, given the fact I've been idolising this guy for years!

Aww right, sorry. Karting was a balls, everyone was a total dick to you, saying how shite you were and they were far better than you. Wankers really, yeah it was pretty serious too, couldn't get my head around how they were acting so bitchy when I passed them on track. Maybe I got them on a bad day!

Neck is fine actually, HANS device comes in handy there.
