Recently set up a new DD to go into savings, was due to come out 1/3/13 but it's still not out 4/3/13.
Blame the weekend, or do I need to enquire to see what the crack is?
Never had a late one, or noticed before when there is money there waiting to go out?

My regular DD's seem to come out whenever they want, I think it's down to the receiver to request them. Standing orders always come out on the same date though.

No Rich, Coming from HSBC to Santander.
Dave, if its a set date though, shouldn't it come out on that day? The reciever surely shouldn't have to request anything?

Beth has a DD from her account to mine, but Santander to HSBC set up for the 1st of the month and that goes in anywhere up to the 5th depending on when the weekend falls

Fair enough, not something i've noticed before on others, found it odd and was hoping it wouldn't be a banking error and I get charged.

Its not meant to happen now as its meant to be almost instant but Santander and HSBC seem to hate one another

5th and still not gone!
Reasoning for the 1st is so I don't notice it come out of wages and I don't dip into it. Bit useless if it's still there now, best off withdrawing it and paying it in!

Would it not be a standing order ? Rather than a DD ?

DD's are requested by companies to pay bills. Standing orders are what you setup with the issuing bank to pay the other one.
