Who know's their whisky's here ?

Missus' old mans 50th coming up soon and I want to get him a decent bottle, he normally drinks Dalwhinnie, however I want to get him something different/bit more special.

Budget of £100 but will spend more within reason.

Get him something he wouldn't have thought of him self, imo.
I've succesfully introduced good rum to a couple of whisky drinkers.

Something like Plantation 20th Anniversary or Ron Zacapa Centenarion XO will suit any whisky drinker perfectly.

Thing is Balling he likes his Rum too, its only been the last few years that he's started drinking whisky.

Will have a look at that welsh one, is it anything like Dalwhinnie ? Keep seeing some are peaty and some aren't as much, I haven't a clue on it so want to get something he'll enjoy

Buying Welsh Whisky is like buying Scottish lamb.

Can't comment on something similar to Dalwhinnie as I don't think I've had it before.

The most similar whisky to Dalwhinnie is probably Royal Loch Nagar, which happens to be one of my favourites

You can get very nice cherry casked brewers edition Loch Nagar bottles for under £100 IIRC
