I've returned a few things to Chain Reaction Cycles via Collect+ on a number of occasions. Simple process and no queuing at the local corner shop - but this has a companies mailing address on so they have some kind of responsibility.

I've sold something and need to send it but Royal Mail is a tad more expensive than I thought, with Collect+ being considerably cheaper. But a lot of forums on eBay say to avoid Collect+ like the plague because things don't get delivered and often stay in transit for ages.

Opinions?

Haven't used them personally, but I'd imagine you get what you pay for.

It's only marginally more expensive. But Collect+ does seem to be used by a lot of brands so can't be that bad!

1.2kg packet.

Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded - £6.55

Collect+ Jiffy Bag up to 2kg with signature - £4.99

Only thing with these courier people is that they're paying monkeys peanuts to do the leg work. So people just don't give a shit about it.

Not saying that all the people who'd handle your packet at RM will care either btw, but people like Hermes etc... Use morons who have their own van/car. and I am biased being a postman and all.

I only sold the thing for £35 inc. postage so I think 1) lesson learnt 2) for the sake of a few quid I'd rather have some reassurance it will get there and Royal Mail have never let me down.

Did you get them suggested through parcel2go.com? They'll find you the cheapest option

No, I just knew of Collect+.

Parcel2go is either that or MyHermes. Both get poor reviews with regard to reliability.

At least with RM I can use my PayPal dosh and print the postage label online, providing mums kitchen scales are accurate!

Used them a fair bit via M&M direct and never had an issue.

Used them about 10 times now, not had a problem except for some shite packaging cardboard I used, but they sorted the claim out and I had a cheque in less than 2 weeks.

Will be using them for anything small.

I think I have done an Amazon return this way.

Just packed it up, dropped it off at the petrol station, gave me a receipt.

Quite simple

Sent an ebay item using it, easy from my end! Turned up in the quoted time, and cheap. That'll do me.

Never had a problem with them myself, but then I've also never had a problem with MyHermes or Yodel of which people on here always complain about too

Yeah Yodel has always been spot on for me. Although I get everything delivered to work and so there is no side gate to chuck it over

UK Mail were cheeky bastards the other week claiming they left a card as no-one was in. The office was open and we don't have a letter box
