been looking for one since christmas now. This one came up, in my area for a change. right colour, right wheels, massive spec list. I was a phonecall from ordering the cash out my account from the bank
Gave the guy a call but got no answer. returned to the Ad and to my horror, seen its done 211k
Worth ringing him again and leaving my number incase he wants to sell it for a grand less in a few weeks, or is it quite possibly worth it?

Can't see that selling with 211k
I'm not one to let mileage put me off but you would never sell it on again.

Id be prepared for him to tell me to fuck off, But Id also be prepared for a phonecall in a month or 2 when he still has it
I looked at one with 175k that sounded and looked fab and TBH I wish Id bought. Ive been for a ride in one with 140k that was top as well
My transit had 198k on it and thats still going :lo:

This, potentially horrific repair costs just around the corner, big gamble IMO.

Limit I'd go on a diesel would be 150k limit on a petrol 100/110K.
It's still a 50(?) k car at the end of the day. So if your pushing yourself financially just to buy it I'd avoid. If you have 5k savings then get an independent check for £100 and then decide.

You could drive that car in reverse and people would think youre in a forward gear.

I would imagine at 200k
The box has probably been done and with good servicing I'd take a gamble if it was the right price

I'm sure if you looked about you could get one cheaper with less miles

From the pictures, it looks like that car lives near the Womens hospital.
If the car is a toy and it's not going to bother you fixing it when it breaks, i'd be happy with the mileage. Although it is a little over priced.
I would drop him a message and offer him 1k less. He's must know what it is worth.

^ Seen that one already
It has to be throw away cheap idealy, its a bit of fun and to satisfy an itch, I throw money at houses, I wont see any cash back from this, Dont mind changing bushes and bearings as I have a mechanic mate, but if its needs a massive part like a box it will be going

be worth getting it, satisfying the itch then when it goes wrong break it and make your money back selling parts and weigh the rest in.

Well if you put it like that, then it makes perfect sense Matthew. The MPG is what put me off, I genuinely would love one but every single one has spaceship miles and those that dopnt add £10k to the price tag ffs

yeah, Il bide my time till the right one comes, even if I only have it for 6 months then sell it Id be happy. Its a good chunk of aluminium too, to take to the scrap yard. Id hate to have to scrap one though, I love the look of them!

I remember the lads on 'Strippers Car for Cash' did an A6 and weighed in the chassis at the end! Ali makes way more than steel

I can't beleive he wants £4k for it.
Seriously, no matter if it has been properly maintained and is in good condition, its only worth what a 211k S8 is worth, which would be about £800 IMO
Bloody cheek, maybe he could add on £300 for it being mint, but to add on £3k is just laughable.
