My mk4 Astra coil springs keep breaking. I am careful at not running through pot holes, havent hit any kerbs, take it easyover speed bumps etc but every year or so I am having to replace coil springs. Apparently it's a common fault because of the shit state of the roads round here and the amount of crap they get thrown at them. Am I better off just keep replacing with cheapies until the car dies (its a 13 year old 115k diesel though, probably will keep going for a bit) or is it actually worth shelling out for stronger springs? And where would I find them, all I can find is lowering springs, I just want better normal springs
