And what's the point in working on your car if you can't share pics of it on the internet?

Basically the car had a really ropey hood on it. I picked up an eBay special replacement hood for next to nothing when comparing it to how much a new one cost. It used to look like this:

And after a few hours work it now looks like this:

Also gave the car a clean

Top of engine is a pita to get to with the oem glass rear screen, it won't stay folded up.

Yes, noticed you can't get a glass screened roof into the service position earlier. The roll hoop gets in the way of the glass Most engine things happen from the bottom anyway, think it's only bleeding the coolant system that happens from the top.

I've only been in it once to change the air filter. Most of it also has to come off to get in behind the seats to change the belt.

Oh yea, forgot about that bit. The 981 has a little hatch behind the seats instead.

Engine bay looks a nightmare to get to

Roof doesn't look any different, must be my phone. Pics look pixelated on here.

Roof's not meant to look much different The only difference should be the rear screen as it's now glass rather than plastic.

I think the majority of the engine work gets done from beneath. There's very little that gets done from the top and like most modernish cars, the engine drops out the bottom easily if you have the right kit. Not ideal for driveway repairs and services though...

Did not notice the huge plastic window! New one looks much better.

Less window to see out of, but also less window for people to see into.

Less window to see out of is the main thing - the plastic one was so cloudy you couldn't see a bloody thing through it! It's also safe to put the roof down when the temp is less than 6 degrees too - the plastic screens tend to split at those temperatures because they fold in half.
