Do you think they're extra injectors for high RPMs or the only ones?

all the super touring/DTm stuff ive seen have got that injector set up, i belive it is down to a better/high volume mix of fuel and air, to create the obvious

Would that not stink and be a fire hazard?

Thought in the past i've heard of people injecting water like that, or i could be talking rubbish.

As for direct injection into the throttle bodies, thats quite common on race engines. Turns into more of a mist, spreading out and giving a better explosion than a droplet of fuel.
