I need a new one but can't decide what to get. Want quite a small one tbh... used to have a round one that was good but lost it and now have a Microsoft one but it doesn't stick to my glass desk and moves around all the time, crap!

http://gbr.sarnafil.sika.com/ ask for a sample of their Single Ply Membrane. You get a sheet approx 25 x 20cm. I have a load I got through work which make perfect mouse matts

Got the old one of these and had it years now, can't fault it across the range of Logitech mice I've used (currently a g9)

I got it cheap somewhere, does the job. Hyperglide skates make a hell of a difference though.

Depends what your desk is made of to be fair. Anything with a bit of gloss on seems to cause havoc with an optical mouse.
I use the top of my desk at work, but the steelmat is needed at home... or was when I used to play games on it.

One of these but an older version; works well except it's now getting on a bit and the 'rough' surface hasn't started to wear in places.

Just make sure you get one of the flat rubber backed ones with the rubber border on the top side. The ones which are like a cheap mouse mat don't last as long.
They're sound with an optical mouse and massive so they don't move at all.
