So, sent a parcel and some of it arrived broken. Plan was to claim back but after having a look online on how to go about it, it seems like a long drawn out process for what could end up as no gain. Ive done it before in the past about 7 years ago, and it was pretty simple compared to what it is now.
The item that was broken was only worth £15, and delivery was £12 (more than 1 item in the package) so is the claiming process worth it for £15?

Just fill in a form, stick your proof of postage on it and proof of the cost of the damaged item. Send it in.
Takes about 5 mins to fill in.
Wait ages for Royal Mail to send you a cheque.
Had to do it a few times for work for missing/damaged packages.

Just hope they don't loose your claim forms.
Friend sent off a claim with original receipts (as they don't accept copies) and they then also lost the letter
Then when they put in another claim they would not honor it as it did not include the original receipts.
After going back and forth many times he just gave up

So for the sake of £15, just take it on the chin and call it a lesson learned.

Really? I would say for the sake of 5 mins and the cost of a recorded delivery stamp it would be worth a punt for £15.
