Been busy over the last week with the car, ordered a rich rook tax disc holder, some chrome rear indicator bulbs, wind deflectors and insignia washer jets all of ebay.

Got them all fitted easy peasy, didn't realise the rear bulbs would be so much work though! You have to take the entire rear light out. Also the insignia washer jets are the best £5 spent on the car yet.









I also decided that after a lot of looking, instead of a parrot I would buy a pioneer head unit with bluetooth/USB/aux. so after a couple of hours at work I settled on the Pioneer 9500BT as it got good reviews and has dual rear USB inputs so I have run two USB extension cables to the glove box.

The cheapest price I found it was on eBay along with the required fascia etc, popped into caraudiosecurity.com's shop and they matched it which was awesome, was a doodle to fit too!





Last job of the day today was too remove the EGR valve and give it a good clean as on the way back from the vets this morning with the cat it had literally no power. Got it off and it was caked in carbon, so after a look of carb cleaner, blue roll and a small screwdriver to scrape it away it's been as good as new!

Next thing will be to put the plate on when the v5 arrives.

How is the pioneer head unit mate ? Currently looking at them on halfords for £160 reduced from £400

I remember my mate removing his egr in works car park, fag in mouth, arse crack hanging out, soot all over his face. Was quite a sight

He has to keep cleaning his as it gets caked in crap really quickly.

Iirc it's a really easy job on these, mine was spotless, went straight back on.

It's really easy, 2 bolts on the top, 4 on the back and a sensor to the far left and it will come off.

Have changed your speakers aswell mate ? And that's good isn't it , but I'm changing all my speakers aswell so would get the head unit and speakers fitted at the same time by halfords as a cheaper option

I wouldn't get halfords to fit anything tbh, youll only learn by doing it yourself, and the hash it and speakers aren't hard to fit at all!

Special tools needed? Or normal spanner and socket set do it?

It's at the back right of the block isn't it?

Yeah take the cover off and it's on the back right.

10mm socket and 13mm socket, blue roll and some carb cleaner

the 16v egr valves are straightforward enough to do, the 8v ones are a bit more fiddly to do though
