Advertising this lot on behalf of a friend.
He was lucky enough to get hold of a load of the bits from Broster's Monster X16XE build but has decided to go down a different route with the car now so all this stuff is for sale.
Cylinder head – THE best cylinder head you'll ever find for an X16XE. Ported and polished by a guy who used to do F1 cylinder heads, cut back bronze valve guides, double valve springs, oversize single piece Paul Ivey valves, one off Newman cams to suit the application with huge lift and a long duration. Comes fully assembled apart from a set of vernier pullies.
To go with them, he has a set of very high compression Wossner forged pistons which have been pocketed to suit the cams. Without them the cams will not work, it's a complete package. These were a one off piston machined by Wossner with a taller crown than normal for a much higher compression height.
All you'd need to make your ITBd X16XE into the ultimate X16XE would be a set of vernier pullies and some steel rods.
Everything here would be capable of creating and engine good for well over 220bhp.
BASE PRICE of £1500 but he is open to sensible offers, so try me and I'll pas it on!

what else would be needed to be done to the engine to cope such as cooling and oil etc if starting from scratch apart from buying throttle bodies and management?
And what would this roughly cost on top to build up a running engine suitable for this spec?
Plus what would it be like to live with in a road car?
Also how would this run on a mantzel inlet and standard management?
Open to anyone who has knowledge/experience of this.
Cheers

Is it a solid lifted head? Id run steel oil pump gears and a cooler as they do run hot when compression is raised alot.
on the road it wont be nice to drive in traffic. Its designed to be a screamer. Si id be suprised if there's much below 3.5k rpm.
could run a mantzel but standard ecu doesn't stand a chance of work properly due to how aggressive the engine is.
Robin - any pics at all, the head Neil roper one by any chance?
Thanks

Hard to say what you would really. 170/180 on that spec. Obv Carbs/tbs would really make the engine
