It is good for the economy though is it not?
Only if it employs people who funnel all, or as much as possible (if they have any) disposable income of theirs, directly into the economy.

Im not claiming anything really i just think its an interesting thing to consider, it keeps hospitals alot busier than if it was cured, god knows how much gets donated to the cause. The whole process of creating these drugs we have at the moment probably isnt free i cant imagine the hospital get them for free either. I was shooting outside the box when i mentioned population control, alot more people would be living longer than normal.

If the campaigns mean even one person who thinks they may have cancer is checked early and it's caught early enough then it's worth it. IMHO.

But Steve's argument is that if you have 1 out of 100 people who get worried and go to the doctors who gets diagnosed with cancer, then its 99 people who are clogging up the GPs with nothing, meaning that people with other possibly life threatening illnesses can't see their doctors due to it.
Might save a few cancer patients, but cost people who are properly ill instead of just having a cough.
I went to the docs a few months back as I'd had a cough for a month. Slight numbness in my right arm and a few other little things that were pissing me off. Usually would of just ignored it's but I've got a kid now, so the missus made me go. Nothing was wrong with me, but she'd seen these adverts saying if you've got a cough for 3 weeks you might have cancer and panicked a bit.

Not only that, things like TV are designed for entertainment, a medium to relax and enjoy to forget about life stresses for a bit, not to ram it down our throats our stomach ache is probably cancer all the time.
We all have a 1 in 1 chance of dying, we don't need to be reminded about it.
Heres an interesting article on it

I think we will never cure cancer because it brings too much money to the NHS. Also it keeps the population under control.
.... you do know how the NHS works dont you...
The NHS is NOT a profit making organisation by any means
No but the hospitals are, and the more severe the patients illness the more money the get from the government, cancer patients being the 'highest paying'.

typically people will dismiss the idea, because its obviously controversial to talk about. But pure ignorance by dismissing the idea outright with no real reason other than 'omg facepalm haha' is boring.
