Not true. Getting one early next year..... One designed specifically by me for me that no one else will have and that means something to me.

Tattoos are no different to someone wanting their teeth whitened or a girl wanting fake tits. Its only your body, not a scared temple. Theyve also been in the fashion long before we were born 
I agree though there are some shit tattoos out there. Some may seem like nothing to you but it could mean something to them?

I know they have been in fashion for years. I'm just using a few examples. If it's a tattoo of a dick eating a horse it would be a shit tattoo. But if I were to ask someone who had that why they had it. And they had a genuine real story about why they have it or what it means to them. Then fair enough
All I'm saying bus that I personally think tattoos are shit unless they have a genuine meaning. IMHO personally myself I feel.

I've done a bit of reading and it turns out the whole ''Hold-Fast'' thing is really quite basic. It stems from an instruction to keep a firm grasp on whatever rigging or line or rope you have hold of, or control over, in stormy or rough seas.
It also appears to comes from this...

But who cares if your tattoo has meaning or that nobody else has it? It doesn't make it anymore worthwhile or valid than someone who likes eggs getting a tattoo of an egg. it's still just a tattoo.
To 99% of people it will just look like a tattoo of some random bullshit, just like everyone else has.
