Probably a postal vote too since he would have been in LA at the time.

Scotland.
Jesus.
Why on earth would Scots be so violently and vehemently pro British and anti Scotland?
Similar to some sects of loyalism in Northern Ireland I suppose. And equally baffling to an ordinary English bloke.

Oh and Hammer, my source was my dad. College Lecturer (Jewel and Esk and latterly the Edinburgh college after the merger) for 25 years who was made redundant by Alex Salmond.
Did you know contact hours are down to 22hrs per week and sometimes the classes have to teach themselves as they are understaffed due to severe budget cuts. University is doing fine though

I'd have probably voted No if I felt my old man was made redundant by the First Minister as well so in that respect I don't blame you.
Then again I would also be asking questions about the Chancellor during the start of the current economic crisis which was partially to blame. The same guy with dodgy eyebrows stood across from Salmond on the TV debates.

22 contact sounds about right. England, but FT post compulsory was only ever funded for about 16 so your 20ish was made up of commitments to a few courses.
They're contracted to work 35, but you couldn't have 35 class contact, there would be no time to prep and grade.
If a class is teaching itself that's either a monumental timetabling balls-up or they've been recruited at the wrong level and somebody though it would be a good idea to put on extra classes. Or the college isn't recovering the student contributions.
There will be some reason why you have a class with no teacher, and its probably not at governmental level.
Sure you can't staff if its there's no money but the income is based on what you run. So provision in target areas gets funded, postcode uplift gets funded, SEN gets funded but flower arranging for old people gets the bullet.
I went through it and ended up redundant but that's because the faculty lost a load of hobby sitting about playing with no view to even being suitable for a job never mind getting one. So that left some staff free to pick up my stuff.
But I didn't mourn the cuts - if you look at some of the babysitting we used to do you'd think it was a good idea as well.

We are building 28 flats and 113 houses where the old jewel and esk valley college used to be, true story.
