Basically i need insurance.........and want a pretty swift car......i'm gona be 19 and possibly go under me dad's insurance......what company's do ya suggest? And on what car?

Preferably a "large" 3dr hatch with a 1.8 or 2.0 16v motor?!

nah i was just wonderin on both actually.....decent hot hatch (larger model) and insurance company.

What do u lot think of:

Focus ESP 2.0 Setec
Astra mk 4 1.8 16v Sport
Megane coupe 1.6

the focus zetec? quite nice try and get a st170 or rs if u cud tho. depends on your budget aswell.

quite like the astras look good modded.

CL - i'm gonna have a look into the st170 but reckon insurance will b terrible astra seems to be a fave......oh and the megane - i'm 6'4" mate!! why, they small?

i think the standard focus zetec mite be a bit sluggish.

i'm 6'2 and when i went out in one my head was on the ceiling

astra is quite a good idea. wot about a mk3 gsi?

how much u got to spend on a motor?

yea astras r nice. im 6ft5 n can fit in an astra. but not a megane. never been in a focus.

kool.....got up to £6k......i'm afraid a c20xe nova/corsa aint an option, nor is any other small hot hatch..... think its gonna the astra

adrian flux are the wankest insurance company going, they quoted over 3 grand for me. got it for £897 in the end with liv vic, every company i rang said they find it hard to beat lv on anything nowadays.

Make sure you phone them. LV are good if you are young on a low insurance group car. They will not insure anyone under 21 on anything higher than grp10, even though their site will quote.

yea, the internet ones are just random numbers! if your car is a reasonable group ie no evos at 17 then the quote is lower when you phone. if it is over grp 10 they just tell you they won't insure you when you phone them!
