Turned cups upside down and still same. There's not many pores to it. Confused as to where it's going wrong.

Below is the spring top platform.

Ive just fitted coilovers to my mates Polo, and when removing the old 1s and switching everything over, your last picture is how his were.

That step washer thing was put on 1st then the top mounts on after it etc.

Washer/step washer type thing should be on top of the spring cup,

So the bearig in the top mount contacts that washer, and to stop the spring cup contacting the top mount,

Why on earth any one would put it underneath is beyond me,

Can you put a pick up the same as your first two setups buy with no washer,
Is the hole in the spring cup almost the same as the threaded section?

So many people (self included) have said ontop of spring cup.

Problem is, if you do that nothing stops the piston from just going up and through the top mount...

Last pic I posted is correct, I called compbrake today

The last pic it wrong, and comp brake are morons,
I rang them regarding my engine mount kit I bought of them and they were telling me it was impossible I was using it on a 2litre conversion... That's what it's made for.

It should go, from bottom to top,
Spring cup, spacer, top mount.

Your spring cup will just be sitting on the top mount an not the bearing.

Spring cup can either sit on the shoulder of your shock, or over the piston rod, depending how its been designed,
Then the spacer should either sit on the shoulder of the piston rod, or ontop of the spring pad if it sits on the shoulder,

Then it goes top mount on top and nut.

But do as you please.

This video shows them putting the step washer under the mount....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ubFb_rKB20

And this guide states the flared washer goes above the bump stop.

Lol!
Both the video and link are using standard style top mounts, not even remotely the same.

An the video doesn't even show a top hat washer/spacer.

Carry on as you are lol.

Corsa sport morons strike again.

What does it matter about the different top mounts?? They all effectively do the same job, so i see no reason as to why the rest of the stuff should bolt up any different.

There's nothing moronic about it. If that's how its meant to go, and works, then why not do it that way.
