Heading to London on Saturday for the Froch fight and wanted to go for a nice meal on Saturday afternoon. Any recommendations of nice eateries for me and the mrs. We'll be eating fairly early, about 4pm, and we're staying in the Marylebone area so needs to be around there. Not to fussed on price and anything other than indian is fine. Any suggestions?

TGI is relatively expensive considering the food you get and either way, i'm not sure how eating decent food suddenly makes you a snob
Dan - It entirely depends on what you fancy eating - if you want Burgers then Flat Iron, Burger & Lobster, The Joint or Meat Liquor are worth a shout; steaks then Gaucho, Flat Iron or Hawksmoor; otherwise Belgo's is reasonable (mainly go for the Belgian beer selection), same with Mestizo at Euston (good selection of tequila's) or if you want to push the boat out, try Simpson's.

I wouldn't say it's expensive. The snob part was a joke. You'd only get upset by it if you actually believed you were of snob status.

I conquer. Had an amazing confit de canard salad in Belgo's.
We visited two different Belgo's in central London, one of which was underground (near Covent Garden, I believe) which I'll not recommend. Food was good, but the atmosphere wasn't.

Not in Marylebone but Heliot Steak House at the Hippodrome Casino just off Leicester Square is really really good! Not badly priced either

Problem with Covent Garden Belgo's is that's it's very open with tiled and open-bricked walls so it sounds very harsh and loud and makes conversations a little difficult. Otherwise i can't fault it; does get extremely busy though.

Meat Liquor is near Bond Street which is 20mins from Marylebone station and i believe Patty and Bun is around there also which is suppose to be decent. Best bet is to have a look on the London TimeOut site.

I like the Covent Garden Belgo's. I also vote for Bodeans just off Oxford street, mainly because I'm a fan of American sports and pulled pork.

Bodeans is nice. We went tower Hill one which was a bit small and the restaurant is downstairs which is a bit odd.
Fulham/soho iirc are supposed to be much better.

My brother lives in Fulham and he's done a few touristy things out of the ordinary. A little while ago he went on an unofficial guided tour looking at graffiti art. He said it was really good. If you're interested I could find out the details.

I've spoken to my brother who thinks he found out about it through a website called something like Alternative London. The tour was free and you just tipped the guy at the end.
