Looking to go to Vegas at the end of the year (maybe even for Christmas Day) and i'm interested to hear recommendations for hotels.
A friend of mine recommends the Four Seasons Hotel, but he's pretty rich and money isnt much of an object for him
Anyone have any recommendations based on experience?
I dont have a solid budget in mind at the moment, but let's just say that i'll be treating this holiday as a once in a life-time thing, and therefore done want to skimp.

We went last year and took a risk on a Hotwire.
We ended up in a place called Desert Rose Resort. It was 2 mins from Hooters and about a 5 minute walk to the bottom of the strip by the MGM.
Was great being out the way of the hustle and bustle, the rooms were more apartments. Had your own kitchen, equipped with hobs, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, dining area, great lounging area and massive bed with flat screens in both areas.
As I say we got lucky taking the risk, but we'd happily stay again, but would book directly next time.

Stayed in a suite in the HRH tower:

I think we had a king suite and it was off season so it was really cheap midweek.
Has a casino downstairs and other bits. Not the biggest and greatest of the hotels but 8/10 would stay again.

Tropicana has recently been done up sister went with work last Christmas 5 nights 5 different hotels.
Avoid likes of Luxor / Circus Circus.
I like being in Ceasears location on strip, pretty central.

Stayed at the Mirage and New York New York. Can fully recommend them both, though Mirage has the far superior placement.
I wouldn't stay north of Wynn or south of Planet Hollywood.
And never stay off-strip. We took two nights at a cheap off-strip hotel, but what we saved on the room we lost on taxi's.
