Sup guys,
I've been having alot of problems with my VXR lately... so it went back to the garage to be looked into.
It turns out there is water in my fuse/relay box that is sending the electrics on the car haywire.
The garage has drained the water, but I want to know is there anything I can do to stop it happening again?
I clean my car alot with a jet wash, so need to know that it's not gonna keep breaking on me everytime I wash it lol.
Cheers
Luke

I've never heard of this on a vxr are you sure the cover is in good condition? Maybe put a plastic bag over it next time you get the pressure washer out.
Or use some sort of sealant in the lid, it's not like you need constant access to it mate

I wouldn't seal it luke, as if something goes it will be a pain to remove the lid, corsas don't have problems with the fuse boxes only vauxhall that do are zafiras.
If It was me I would take all the fuses out (one by one) and clean the and the surface of the fuse box then buy some contact grease from vauxhall. Also a new lid would probably be a very good idea as the old one may have come loose.
Also when you jet wash your car don't get too close to the f/n/s wing as if your blasting it it's going to go between the bonnet and wing. I'd buy a new lid that's for sure though as the fuse box won't be cheap. Hope this helps
Edit - don't forget to to disconnect the battery

Washed it last night and covered the fuse box and all is fine this morning.
Was told the draining hole was blocked so water was just filing up and shorting everything in the fuse box!

Yo
I will be getting a chrome cover for it or something I reckon ready for when I get all my boost pipes.
I did have the fuse lid off before when I had a problem with my headlights staying on, I had to remove the fuses to get them to turn off, maybe I didn't put it back on properly!

No mate. The fuse box is literally CM's from the scuttle. Apparently the draining hole was blocked. As a result there was a puddle in the bottom of the fuse box which everytime i went over a bump/jacked car up etc it was shorting fuses/relays out.
The garage cleared the blockage. But I just want to be sure that this issue is now resolved. I want to know if theres anything else I can do to stop water getting in.
I did have the fuse box cover off a few times when I was messing with the fuses for my headlights etc so I was just wondering If i left the cover off by mistake and water got in...
I want to buy a chrome cover or something which will match my boost pipes once I order them lol.
