Driving my mates 1.7cdti sri corsa today. Was pulling away on a hill , into 2nd gear , hit the boost and it made a big pop noise and a hissing noise like a tyre quickly deflating. Car now drives with no boost and a horrible hissing noise. Am I right in thinking this is a boost pipe issue? Car sits and ticks over fine but sounds like it's leaking air and it sounds loud like a petrol with no air filter on if you know what I mean.
Need to get this sorted before he's back. No management lights on.

Does sound like a boost pipe has either failed or come off.
Probably no lights because the ECU can't detect it - or its waiting for a few more load conditions before reporting it.
Need to get under there and have a look around. Noise should guide you in if you can give it a rev up while you're trying to find it.

Have been under but can't see a thing , had a pull at the hoses but nothing loose. Don't like revving it up incase it's something serious. Strange rattle comes off it and it's very slow to rev up as well? I drove it 2 miles when it happened just on the revs no accelerator just incase

Also there's a small pool of oil next to the pipe where it connects onto the intercooler ?

As in dripped from a split pipe, or something else in that area?
There will be oil residue in there as the breathers vent back in there, but shouldn't be loads.

Right at the join to the intercooler , it's dripped down onto the bumper. It's not a lot tbh.

Got someone to look over it. He reckons the intercooler is burst. This wouldn't have been my fault would it? Could have went at any time? Wasn't driving hard or that.

If you weren't driving it hard then I can't see how you've caused it.
