I seem to make quite a lot of these threads....

Sold the Volvo last week to We Buy Any Car, got bored of trying to sell privately, there was loads of interest but all at the wrong money so we got it valued and went for it as the money was pretty much the same this way but without the hassle.

So that was Thursday afternoon, we went home and had a look to see what was about and decided upon two possible options, then narrowed it down a bit more as this one was a lot more practical than the other.

Went to view a car in Burton upon Trent, got there and the guy said straight away "It's Cat C, I did put it in the advert" then proceeded to be pushier than a bobsleigh team. Walked away from that one as there was a few issues like the wrong type of windscreen, not heated and it had a clip for a rain sensor.

Anyway, immediately after that we decided to drive to Gatwick on a Friday afternoon, took forever.

Got there, looked round the car and handed the money over after a test drive basically.

So here it is, I only have a couple of pics so far as my computer is being a pain.

The spec is -

Full leather (it's an ST3)

Collins CP320 package (Mongoose 'section 59' exhaust, Autospecialists CAIS, intercooler (Airtec I think) and a map) quoted at around 320bhp and 400lb/ft

Eibach springs

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s with 225/40 18 Michelin Pilot Sports

Triple R front splitter

Quaife ATB diff

The diff is mental, best thing about the whole car.

I'll grab some more pics today and I have a couple of videos but for some reason can't get them onto Youtube

3 little vids there, not sure what the Mrs was doing taking forever to change gear in the last one, it was wet though so I guess she didn't want to wheelspin all the way down the road.

Sounds great.

Good spec too! And, thankfully it's the better looking Facelift version.

Very nice! Not a fan of the wheels though, think partly due to majority of them wheels are usually 15/16" on smaller cars.

That's a shame. Its perfect for the track as is with the light weight wheels and the diff. Take it out at least once and you'll really see what the diff is capable of. I'd love to have a diff fitted in mine but at £700 plus fitting its just to high an outlay.

That's very true about the diff.

Last track day I did in 106 gti, mate with me in his 106 rallye, pretty much identicle. Same brakes coilovers wheels etc. only difference was he had a quaife, and was on R888's I was on T1R's. Was completely different.

Crikey Robin! Very smart indeed Sir. And talk about yer sleepers (apart from the noise of course).

Will you now be driving everywhere with the windows open and imagining your name is Walter and you're in the middle of a Welsh forest?

Difficult to say as the diff basically creates torque steer, it pulls you into the corner, so I guess that's torque steer in essence but it's intentional. It's fine in a straight line though and only pulls around on a really bumpy road, like any other car I guess.
