anyone use/got a android smart tv box I've been looking at them for streaming tv and watching films from my external hard drive are they any good

I got one, think it's pretty horrible tbh. Android isn't really made to be used with a remote IMO. A lot of people rate XBMC which is more remote friendly once installed, but I still prefer my NowTV box with Plex installed, only negative being you would need a PC running Plex server.

I'm using the £10 Plex solution too, works perfectly for what I need. Have the PC on constantly in the spare room

The one I'm looking at has xbmc on it I'll mostly use it to view films from my hard drive on my tv so I'll needs some sort of media player that plugs in the hd slot on the TV that will play file's from the hard drive
