Been given a Parking fine/PCN. Funny thing is I parked in the City Council car park and was so rushed (or stupid) I didn't check that I had to pay

Know I'm in the wrong so tried to pay it online and it says it can't find my PCN number and vehicle registration combination even though I've put it in a thousand times

Anyone had any difficulty with APCOA and paying their parking fines? I don't want to pay by cheque etc. but before I ring up APCOA or the local Council I just wanted to check what was best to do, as I've seen a few people be scammed by fake PCN's and the criminals that are APCOA.

as long as its from the council and not a private firm, then pay it.

Are all the details on the ticket correct? iirc if the wrong reg is down it will be invalid.

Problem is I can't decide whether it's a scam or not as the local council have actually subcontracted APCOA for all parking services and the fact I actually parked in the city council car park doesn't help

What happens if the council subcontract all parking duties to a private firm?
