Maybe meet some friends, try and get some sort of life together, I don't mean wealth I mean an actual life. Then comments online will be less signifanct and upsetting for you.
are you not getting angry about facebook posts?
maybe you should listen to your own advice?

James Bond being another brilliant example. ie How a Roger Moore film compares to whoever is playing it these days (I don't know or care, they are similarly awful nowadays)
Emphasis on pace and "drama" over atmosphere and substance.
100% agree, but that wasn't the angle I was going with.
The Prequels (1,2,3) where filmed to be light and almost rose-tinted as this is the time before the Dark side/Sith re-emerged. Hence why they look different until you get right to the end of Ep3 and suddenly looks a lot darker.

You understand why they have a different feel right? It was deliberate
(CGI in place of prosthetics aside)
You're specifically talking about the colouring of the film, which isn't the issue with the prequels.
The problem isn't even the stories, it's the execution. Lucas decided to CGI absolutely everything he could get his hands on in the prequels and with shite CGI (dodgy textured models and shoddy lighting and shadowing) when he shouldn't have. And to top it off, you have piss-poor acting and damn right awful green screening (would help if actors actually interacted with the CGI environment correctly). This is what ruins the prequels and for $350m you'd have expected a lot, lot better from Lucas.

I agree completely, the texture if you will of the originals is what made them so convincing, a little pinch of suspension of disbelief and largely they all look amazing.
The digital film plus all the excessive CGI and lack of "real" characters/sets etc was a real shame. I still enjoy them, for what they are. The Pod Race for example I think was fantastic, set in Tunisia too, real location. The second one I think was the one that had too much green screening and looked generally like a computer game.
Lucas always says "faster more intense" as a directional instruction according to the actors, this is evident with bonkers decisions to fill every single bit of the scene with someone or something moving at any given time, made a lot of the scenes far too busy and less cinematic eye candy like the originals.
I still like the prequels mind!

The SW Prequels to the originals is like a less extreme version of what Alien 3 was to Aliens. It was a desperate "need" to use all the latest technology, even though it doesn't always translate to a better quality product - sometimes you've got to keep dipping into the "old" techniques until the modern stuff matures. (Jurrasic Park one of the better examples of how mixing new with old can deliver the ultimate result, and the prequels have slowly slid more towards CGI and less animatronics without sacrificing the effect.
If SW1/2/3 CGI was executed like something like Avatar was, it would have been less of a problem.

I also don't mind the prequels THAT much, but I bet I've only seen them a handful of times compared to literally HUNDREDS of viewings of the original trilogy... being a kid for one set of films and an adult for the other set though is probably something to do with that.
I rewatched the prequel trilogy about 6 months ago, and CGI aside I forgot how "Lost" the films got into becoming a political drama rather than a sci-fi fantasy. Obviously the backstory of the transition from republic to empire is important - but I think they got a little bit sidetracked with the detail of that angle, when we could have been covering the Clone Wars or the Jedi extermination for much longer.
Jar Jar gets a lot of flack for silly reasons (voice, humour, etc), but using him as the root cause of the Empire rising to power was just terrible He initiated the vote of no confidence IIRC which kicked the whole lot off.

Any movie that receives this much hype invariably turns out a 6.5 or 7/10

Same happened with Batman; and the marvel films.
They all run out to suddenly buy the previous films, then get on Google to find out all the hidden facts - just so they Can post them online

Get it right. I read pages 2-4, saw the comment by Generation and then made my statement. So yes, I read 3 pages whilst getting paid to do so and commented. Why is that a big deal?
