Have any of you good folk bought/used this?

What's the difference between normal 360 and the 'Gold Edition'?

Cheers in advance.

Geek Day.

But I would not install anything from Symantec if they was the last AV provider on the plant.

I didn't go in Geek Day because this is just a general enquiry and I thought it would get more exposure in Off Day.

Argos do 360 for £45, whereas PC World want bloody sixty quid for it, but it's listed as the Gold Edition.

Just wondered what the difference was and if the dearer one was better, i.e. like if it comes with an ad blocker for example.

I've never used free software. Didn't even know you could get antivirus stuff for free. I always thought that free software was free for a reason.

I've had Kaspersky in the past and it was awful. Total waste of money and would never use it again.

Had Norton on this laptop since I got it new three years ago and it's been very good.

I found Norton slowed my machine down quite a bit, granted this was on a Compaq back in 2003 but it ran so much better without it.

As said Avast is good and it is free.

My aunt has it on her laptop and I had to figure out what was making a relatively new VAIO slow as fuck.

The answer was Norton.

Lots of love for Norton in here then

Weird on the slow running thing. Mine's a very ordinary Samsung and it's never made it run slow.

Found it to be hit and miss myself. We had one customer that insisted on using it and its been fine for years on several machines, every other instance I've seen of it has been crap. Found the same with Security Essentials, except doesn't pick up on enough viruses from experience.

Avast is good and free, there's a paid version too that if you Google it you can get a key for free from youtube I think it was

Use eset a lot but takes a fair bit of fettling to get working right, out of the box it can be abit of a pain

I wouldn't expect someone who runs Norton in their pc to recognise when it's running slow tbh
