Sup guys,

I've acquired a Corsa GSi recently and am looking to tidy it up. There are a few marks on the front bumper/rear bumper etc that I would like to get sprayed in the future, but I have a few questions...

- Do all original GSi kits come sprayed with the "bobbles" in the plastic?
- How would I go about smoothing the surface without getting rid of said bobbles?

For example if you're wanting to colour code a car, you need to fully smooth off the bobbles in the plastic for the primer/paint etc to stick correctly... but how is that done on a GSi kit as they've already been painted with the bobbles still there?

I hope people know what I mean

Yep, original kits come in primer with the bobble effect, I replaced the full kit on my old GSi and it all came like that.

If you are getting it painted then I would get it smoothed. Looks much better IMO

Anyone got pics of this painted bobbly surface? Sounds proper pikey and half arsed by Vauxhall.

Yeah I prefer the bobbles, looks more original! May need to source replacements then rather than get them sprayed.

Each to their own but imo the textured surface looks shite and cheap. I never understood why Vauxhall did that.
You don't need to spend time sanding them down. Just use a good high build primer

It's like an oil painting, would u prefer the original or a print out on glossy paper lol

No probs mate. Mine was a brand new genuine kit from AutoVaux and my painter used high build primer on mine. It's spot on

I think either way there's an advantage but I think for whatever intention vauxhall wanted the gsi to have that look so I'd keep it, will still look awesome, u got any pics of this gsi lad

Prime first then sand back the primer.

Does look more original if they're left on but if it needs repairs you won't get that finish.

Plus keep it standard and CS will tell you it'll be worth 20k next year
