It's all about the AoA, i.e. the relative airflow over the wing. If you were at low airspeed with a high nose and had enough power then you could theoretically increase throttle and power out of it; however you're trained to lower the nose and increase airspeed. This is probably because people stall when turning onto base or final in the circuit. Also, you'd need lots of energy to overcome all the drag and gravity acting on the aircraft and unless you were flying something with mega performance it would be a bit unsafe.

Im not saying Ed is wrong, but I know what a stall is, and I was typing a reply quickly on my phone just to merely point out that a stall doesn't mean the engine has stalled.

It was clear my intention, it wasn't intended to be dissitation on the exacting details of airflow and physics for every scenario that can cause an aircraft stall.

Ed was just being a picky clever cunt. Hence the single "no" response.

Not really, as being so close to the ground means the air is 'dirty' and the relation between velocity and lift is seriously altered which is further complicated by the need to 'pull-up' I suppose technically the pilot could have change the flap angle and maybe powered out of it but it was probably over in a moment.

I agree the video in post 155 shows a classic high-G, high-speed wing stall (wing drop, and the whole aircraft sinks behind the tree).

But by that moment, the aircraft was almost certainly going to hit the ground, regardless. The "accident" (whatever it was), that put the aircraft in a position where it must hit the ground one way or another, began much earlier in the maneuver. The stall only changed the impact point by a few yards.

The stall may - emphasize "may" - even have been the result of a well-intentioned pull on the controls to try and clear the people-filled highway, and crash in open ground beyond. But physics and aerodynamics are unforgiving...

in relation to ejection i think that depending on the type of seat fitted if they are no longer serviceable by the likes of Martin Baker etc then they have the ejection capability removed

dont think the canopy on the hunter hinges at the point of ejection, espically in training side by side config

unfortuatley i think thats another part of the aircraft

It depends on the revision, I think early ones were sliders, but later ones are hinged and its exactly like the still.
