Absolutely heart breaking news.

World is a worse off place without him, also cancer again. Sad sad times.

Always thought he was a right weirdo, but I was born in 88, so I guess he was before my time. Didn't even know he had cancer.

RIP.

Sad loss to the music world,

He lasted well considering he was a prolific coke fiend, had 6 heart attacks and smoked like a chimney.

Sad news.

I'm wondering if he died before the album release and they delayed the announcement. Got really good reviews too.

He is an artist from an age of absolute bohemia where drug abuse, drinking, smoking was done to absolute excess on a much wider scale than today amongst the musical fold. I think with artists approaching Bowies age, it's going to become a more common thing.

Yup, big loss to music. I'm not upset in the slightest though, and won't pretend to be for Facebook likes.

Already have my news feed plagued with idiots comparing him to the likes of Justin Bieber etc; and how he magical God in the sky should swap them.

Fkin idiots got deleted

What's the difference between him dying and any other person in the hospice?

There is quite a difference between him and old Doris down the road. Go fish somewhere else.

Maybe because he played a massive role in shaping popular culture over the past 50 years .... And he wasn't a fucking retarded cretin like you ... Maybe?

I mean, yeah, it was sad, and he's a legend n'all.

But come on, if his music was that good, the radio would be playing it all day every day. And they constantly did today, so I'm already f*cked off with it.

Actually, he is always getting played on Drive Time on Radio 2 and Radio 6.

The proper radio stations.

Radio 1 can GTF tomorrow then.

Although I don't listen to it much, as I'm theoretically too old

The amount of people inspired by him alone has shaped music forever and half the bands and acts on the radio today wouldn't be there or sound different because of him.

And his music was that good, better than pretty much anything on Radio 1 at a guess

Just read it was liver cancer. Seems to be quite a few causes. Could hardly call him over weight!
