As above, a DA isn't just a motor spinning a disc, there is a concentric motion, the mechanism isn't massively complicated but it isn't just a motor and a shaft!
You can get cheap rotary polishers but you WILL fuck your paint.
But the cheaper ones are also DA
Why will the cheaper ones fuck your paint?

If its a DA its a DA.. I'll agree on that level  but some people buy rotary polishers for peanuts and think its the same thing
There are probably some lovely Chinese companies selling rotary polishers as DA's for cheap too

We buy the Rupes DA's for durability and feel when using it, a cheap DAS wouldn't last a week either breaking or being binned. Rotary polishers we never cut corners on. (Festool are being 'mare at the min tho)
But for a home detailer a DAS6 is fine with a decent set of pads and product.
And Steve... whwn you use this gear day in day out you would notice the difference between cheap stuff and expensive stuff, same principle as any who uses powertools for their job.

I have the DAS6. Only used it once and had good results. I know it's not professional quality though

After an hour using the Argos polisher. Used a Meguiars polish I had lying around and some old Vauxhall wax. Pretty impressed with it for the money.
