Imagine my dismay when I found that 4-finger KitKats were no longer packaged in foil with a paper sleeve.

This thread is scary - I only received this from Nestle today

Dear Consumer

Thank you for your recent enquiry via email.

We were concerned to read that you are disappointed with the new packaging of Kit Kat.

All the materials we use are the result of extensive research work by our Packaging Development Team. Our aim has always been to provide adequate packaging at a reasonable cost and we would not wish to overburden our products with unnecessarily expensive packaging materials as this would then be reflected in the price of the product.

The change in design of this pack was well received in consumer research tests and we regret that you do not share this view. As with any change to a long established and much loved product there are bound to be loyal users who feel upset. However we try to cater for the majority of opinion which, in this instance, was for a change.

We are constantly looking for ways in which we may improve the quality of our products and will certainly bear your comments in mind.

Thank you once again for taking the trouble to contact us and for giving us the opportunity to comment on the points you have raised.

2-finger multipacks are still packaged in foil with the paper sleeve - I have since informed Nestle of my decision to boycott the purchase of 4-finger bars and instead buy only multipacks and chunky variants.

Only because your fingers are feminine and slender so you need a whole hand of fingers before they realise you're down there.
