I need to choose my third year options . I can't decide between neural networks or critical software development.
I'm thinking the second one because it sounds interesting - all about software security / integrity / testing etc etc. The only thing is , I dont understand what neural networks is about. I can't make any sense of what it says in the book .
HAs any1 here studied it? is it interesting ?
Cheers

Software Development @ the bottom, "easiest" form of it is shite, i wouldn't.. dunno what neural networks are though But i would choose them...
You're life, shouldn't ask people on here about it

neural nets are interesting, they can be cool! idea of making a program (i used C++) to train a program (after amount of training) to do summit, i.e. guide thru a maze, eventually it will learn and finish.
can be confusing at times

yeh I searched google, and I was looking at http://ieee-nns.org/ and http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/1624/adaline.html and this http://www.cs.stir.ac.uk/~lss/NNIntro/InvSlides.html , latter is apparently "An Introduction to Neural Networks" - But I still can't make so sense of it !
Which is why I thought if anyone here has studied it then that would give me a much clearer idea !

Depends what kind of thing you're interested in really.
If you don't mind software development (both theory and programming) then go for Critical Systems, but if you're more into crap like Neural Networks that you'll never use and will go completely over your head, then take the red pill.
