Everyone must of seen the DVLA road tax advert about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang getting caught by one of the new road tax camera's and the consaquences blah blah blah. Anyway the funny thing is cars over 25 years old don't need road tax and that car was made in 1973.

and you still need a tax disc its just its free have to go to the post office and get one non the less so you would be charged

arhh but that advert is based in the 1920s when road taxes existed and so chitty would of had to of had one

all you need for a car that is over 25 years is a tax disc that says nil, and i think the idea of the advert is to get those who don't have tax now (2003) to get it and not those who didn't have it in the (1920)'s to get some

Yes but if you don't have one saying nil you will still be charged and you have to get one every 12 month to make sure you have an mot and insurance

but to be fair - if its based in the 20s neway then chitty wouldnt ahve existed cause it was built in the 70's so its all wrong nehow
