It's credited as Lennon/McCartney on the back of my original 1967 copy of Sgt. Peppers Loney Hearts Club Band.
I know the story behind the song but I can't remember which of them actually wrote the song tho (sounds like a Lennon song tho)

Apparently Lucy was Sean Lennon's friend at school or something. Sean drew a picture of her flying in the sky at night (stars = diamonds) and John wrote a song about it.
The song definitely sounds like LSD tho
