At the moment my 6x9's are in a wooded parcel shelf under cloth. I am going to be doing a small wooden build for my sub/amps, so should i:-
A) Leave 6x9's in shelf as is.
B) Move 6x9's to rear quarter pannel cards and block the holes in shelf
C) Move 6x9's to rear quarter pannel cards and leave holes in shelf open with cloth over them as a kinda bandpass thing for the sub??

stick 6x9'sin rear 1/4 and chuck original shelf back in if you still have it, otherwise cloth over the holes and leave it like that. Too much hassle blocking 'em up for no reason.

Original shelf buckeled from weight of 6x9's thus the stealth shelf. Is it a lot of work to move the 6x9's??
Anyone got any tips on how to strengthen the rear panel to cope with the weight?

I would say move them to rear 1/4's and leave the old shelf, what sub is going in?? If it a couple of 12's then you would probably benefit from the holes. Acting like a port to the rest of the car.
Go for what corb and TOMAS said, they know their stuff

Actually you could completely remove the shelf... I have no shelf in mine, reduces rattles and gives extra bass and kick...

im gonna have a single 12" Alpine Type R sub if that helps. Think i will move the 6x9's so leave the holes seems to be the general best bet?

yer i brought it back from the dead from a search I did
Wot rear speakers are you running now then?
As i have front components and am looking to upgrade the standard rear speakers. Mainly im after a bit more volume and bass without having a sub.
What would you recomend

no rear speakers at all, much nicer sound with them gone.
A good set of amped components will give you all the volume you could ever want. Then sub(s) in the boot and your done.

If you dont want subs (as such) then put 2 JL 6 W0 subs in the rear quarters, one each side.
There no bigger than component mids but drop a lot more.
