Hey!

I Got a 99 1.0 12v Corsa and it has those ugly Black Strips down Each Side, I'd like to remove them, and need to know the best method without leaving any trace of them being there in the first place! has anyone done this? if so please share!

It will take ages to get all glue off.
You can get a special machine that does it.

I took mine to a body shop cost about £20 well worth it.

Yeah, I'd rather pay £20 to get it done... It was tricky enough trying to get the boot debadged, and that's nothing compared to the bump strips.

Also, autoglym tar remover is about £5 a pot, you're probably gonna need a fair amount (more than one pot I reckon).

Heat it with a hair drier - then use fishing line when the tape/glue is soft to "cut thestrip off the glue, if you pull your paint can come off in a lump and that will look a hell of a lot worse than some palstic strips

I do not recommend petrol at all!!!!

It fooked up my paint. I had my strips removed without too much trouble and just had a few traces of glue left. I used petrol as recommended by people on here. As soon as the cloth touched the bodywork it turned a milky white colour. I don't know if it was a chemical reaction with the glue or what, but it won't cut or polish out. It was so bad that I painted the strips and put them back on to cover the white.

Mine is Arden blue. I don't know if it reacted with the glue or what but it turned the lacquer where the glue was white, yet the lacquer with no glue on was fine.
