btw - for the real answer - the 45 and the 50 is a percentage of the width
so
the side wall on the 45 is 45% of 195
the side wall on the 50 is 50% of 195 which is erm ........ .....97.5mm

thoguht 45's were smaller than origanal tyres, hence slowing down the topspeed.

actually they dont, 165/70/13 = 570mm
195/45/15 = 565mm
gsi's 185/60/14 are exactly the same as 195/50/15 at 585mm which is also the same as 215/40/16
205/40/17 are 600mm

thast external hieght, not rolling radius, but all meens the same, the 45 profile would be have a rolling radius of about 8cm less than the standard wheels.

45 will provide slightly better ride qual, but more travel in the sidewalls.

Get the 45s, they look better and the car handles better as there is less flexing in the sidewall. I had 45s on my corsa(look at sig) at the mo om my renault 5 i have 45s on the front and 50s on the back hehe. gettin some 45s on the back next week though!!
