i got a L Reg 1.4 spi, has some of u know, and its got no rev counter, but i wanna fit a 97 onwards dash with the rev counter, is this possiable to do, and have anyone of u lot done it?

no cant do, unless u wanna go thru the hassel of fittin an electronic transducer into the gear box. not worth it.

if i got a 2.0L 16V engine with the gearbox, would i be able to fit this with the rev counter?

Right, this is possible mate.
Once the 2.0 16v and the f20 box is fitted, ur gonna need to rip out the the speedo cable and plug from the top of the gear box. Then u'll need to go down to a scrappy, and find a post 97 corsa. From this u will need the transducer from the gearbox and and the speedo operation wire.
U then plug this new transducer into the f20 box and run the cable to ur dash. ?U will now have a fully operational post 97 dash in ur car.

nice, do u know if the 16v's come with the f20 gearbox? like when u get them from the back of the ads in like total vauxhall?

yep, in9/10 instances where the ad says "engine and box", you will find that the 2.0 16v is supplied with the f20 box. It was the box that vaux fitted the engine with in the Astra, cav, callly etc.
However, it is possible that the box may have been changed and is now running an f16 or even f28 in some cases (rare).
