Phase one saxo VTR is slightly slower than the phase two (i think!)

I have a sport with drilled air box, new panel filter, and back box and VTR's dont beat me. Its very very close, most of the time there is nothing in it. I've definately beaten VTR's in the past though. Most people who have been in my car say it feels really quick for a sport

nah 106 GTi are very quick i reckon. i have a mate that has one and another mate that has a 206 GTi, we go racing down in Gants Hill all the time the 106 always beats him. both are std.

Very true, i easily beat a phase 1 the other day, on a straight road, but then the corners came, and he flew round em at about 100, but i didnt feel safe so droped to 90, lol mabey 'cause i rolled me last car round a corner!!
I think what does it for the phase 1 vtr's is it's weight, of around 920kg to the sri's 1335kg!!

regardless of the date of this...
VTR's make me laugh with there chav drivers & pre-teen girlfriends with acne... Always on private land though NEVER on a motorway or from REAL traffic lights... usually mock-up ones controlled by russian mice...
Cavalier SRi was fun tho, was a C-reg one... was pretty much even but I had him in 2nd & slowly gaining in 3rd, but in 5th he was slowly pulling away maybe I need more power...

yes they are slow
the olds have a 1.6 Zetec and I thought it was shit slow
also when mother drove my GSi to the garage a while ago to get some work done on it as I was in work, she said it was far too quick for her!
Kinda like Fiesta Zetec-S... there lighter than the Focus, but just as bad

Mk2 Saxo VTR's (the ones with 100bhp) are so much faster than the Mk1 Saxo VTR's.

has anyone ever driven any of these? the mk1 and mk2 have almost no difference in them whatsoever. I think its around .2 sec to 60 and 1or2secs to 100. also from the figures i have seen a vtr to 60 is low 9s not high 9s or 10.5. I have owned both a 1.4 sport and a mk1 vtr and imo the vtr was faster standard and handled so much better. It was not as reliable but there is no way you could say standard for standard a sport would go past and certainly not on a corner. end of!!
