As most of you will know, I am getting a new car in two weeks and am trying to sell the Corsa. Was driving it last night went to put it in 3rd and... clang,crunch,clang,bang,clunk,clunk,bang. Looks like the gearbox has gone. Second gear doesn't work at all now and had to drive really slowly all the way home (Luckily, only a couple of streets away.) Was making a right racket all the way.
So now not only was I gonna be selling the car cheap to get rid of it quick, I now have got to go even more out of pocket and get a new fucking gearbox.

Get another f13 gb. It should be able to handle the power of your car so must be teh way you drive. A 2nd hand F13 box will only cost about £50. Or even l,ook for an F15.

Was just gonna fit a second hand Gsi gearbox?
Will see how much vauxhall want to fit a f13 and if it's too much money, I'll go for a second hand one.
Suppose it's not a suprise though, a 1.2 16v gearbox with 170bhp being pushed through it for months will take its toll.

Its the torque, but yur car isn't producing over 120lb ft of torque?
See how much Vauxhall want  About £300+. Go to a scrappy and buy one.

Car is producing 124lb/ft at the moment. And I know the f13 is supposed to be able to handle 130lb/ft of torque but a blown gearbox in 30k miles is pretty fucked.

You'll get a secondhand F13 for around £50-£70 from a scrappy. They can be fitted in a couple of hours max if the mechanic's not a complete chimp. You should be able to get it sorted for around a ton.
PS - I have an F13 box up here Patrick you can have for £50, but you'd have to come and get it
