It,s a great little engine ain't it!

If your goner go for an induction kit then make sure its a sealed one like a Viper, doesn't make much difference during the winter but you'll notice the difference when the weather is hot like it is now.

Id also reccomend going for one of the performance inlet manifolds available along with a superchip to raise the rev limiter.

dont bother with induction kits. Piles of steaming crap. Drill your airbox, get some cold air feeds up to it from below the bumper, get a K&N panel filter for £30, and cut out all the plastic piping inside the airbox and in the airbox lid. You may see gains of 3bhp. Very cost effective mod. Makes a lovely sound like a turbo'd 4pot. Look at getting a new inlet manifold from Mantzel, Velos, Lexmaul. The X16XE engine can push out nearly 150bhp if its unrestricted, and thats not even pushing it. over 200bhp can be extracted from the engine using Throttle Bodies. www.sbdev.co.uk . Look at different cams, engine management, larger bore exhaust with a decent exhaust manifold too. Something from Scorpion or Magnex would be cool. You need to spend a lot of money to get the most from this engine, but its worth it

Superchip will give about 4bhp.
Inlet manifold for £300-500, £500-800 fitted will add 15-25bhp.
Modify the airbox(3-5bhp) and de-cat pipe(3-7bhp) for £70, £100 fitted and ul be past 130bhp.

inlet manifold and unichip will give you 140ish on standard cams and rev limit. thats with exhaust and filter. addin cams, head work and a raised limit and you'll be looking at 155-160hp which is the most you'll get with standarad throttle body

Disagree. When i had the 15s, i had it dropped 40mm at the rear and 35mm at the front and it handled superbly. Thought it may just be chance, but then Donna bought Chuckies old car "Troy" Same suspension kit, on Fox (ewww) 15" alloys, and its one of the most fun cars i'd driven. Handled just like mine did. You could feel everything the car was doing.

Thats without PAS too.

As for the 1.6 16v engines, its all already been said. I love em

More u spend usually the better quality u get.

If u can afford it, i'd suggest coilovers. Range from £500 -£1000+

See a nice set in Demon Tweeks for £923
