Bought my car with a crappy JVC cassette and disk changer so took all that out. I replaced this with a pioneer deh p6500r headdy. Problem is, it looses all it memory, eg all radio station, settings etc and so on every time i turn ignition off. The problem lies with the wiring to the stereo i think, as this happened with the JVC unit. There is 1 spare wire that is plugged into nothing. Should this be connected to the battery or something? Thanks

Spare connector on the car is for the MFD display,
See the tutorials section, you need swap the red and yellow wires over, simple as that. Or by a wire converter from somewhere like Halfords, bout £11.
Spare wire- Like a spur off one? If its what Im thinking of then its where you can power the CD changer from if you have one.
