Would a 1.6 16v engine slot straight into a 1.2 16v car with no conversion at all?

think so. mates getting a 1.6 16v into a 1.4 8v at the minute and its suppossed to be a straight swap...

Just thought.... 1.2 16v is EPS (electric power steering) and 1.6 16v is normal power steering.

so...
If the power steering system is seperate just leave it seperate, you can use the engine still.
As the power steering stuff is not directly connected to the engine, its an accesory like the alternator or air con
