i persoanally hate 6x9s, but a mate of mine has them and they are quite impressive with the amount of noise they produce running of the HU.

M4tt I didnt want to get 6x9's really as I like the idea of all the speakers being where they are.
The only reason I am getting 6x9's is that the rear speakers make a stupid noise when the music is loud, it there any way just to change the standard rear speakers and keep them where they are??
If not then 6x9's I will have to get.....

Changing the rear speakers is an absolute nightmare in the corsa, you need to remove alot of the black trim in the boot to get at them. I simply bought new speakers and cut holes in the rear door cards and relocated the rear speaker wires there.
Stealth shelves arent cheap. Direct from Auto Acoustics the kit its £70 or if you want to buy it professionally built it will set you back £100. Some other places build their own but its a case of finding them.

I make my own to be honest but you need to have some experiences with MDF and gluing carpet otherwise it will look such a shabby job, only one thing has to go wrong and it looks crap.
They are definatly worth the money if you have 6x9's. The bass response is much much better and overall sound quality is improved. Dont forget it also hides them from thieving scum

i bought some new speakers to go in the factory loactions in the back and TBH it was't worth the effort. They sounded crab.
spend your money on amazing fronts, i've got some JBL 5in Components in my doors and they are pretty good they on;y set me back about £80 and take 75RMS.
amp them as well, gives them a cleaner sound.
that's what i would do insteadof buying 6x9s.

Ok Im a bit in the middle here, I have JBL components in the front, which in my opion are the best speakers you can get for the price...the qualty of them is amazing!!! BUT I also have 6x9's in for the bass. I use my boot for work so I cant fit a sub (or 2 as Id like) so I have to get the bass from somewhere!! But it you dont mind have little boot space then get some JBL gto series components for the front and a sub as well. Will sound amazing
