Well, jsut spent the last two ish days buliding brackets for my front components (at last). Went well im glad to say (which is unusual as i always have problems ), and the tweeters and comps are sitting in place, fairly hidden. I've mounted the cross-over on the front doorcard. Its see thru turquoise blue plastic so looks pretty cool against the black doorcard.

I wired up all the components (front and rears) and tried my headunit, only to find it beep at me every so often, played for a few seconds then went off. This repeated every time i turned it on. I tried to eject the CD by lowering the face (Pioneer DEH8400), but it only lowers slightly, then turns off again. Every time i turn it back on, it lifts back up into place, then beeps, then goes off again.

I took the cable adaptor off and fitted another Pioneer head unit to find out everything works fine, so it must be the wire adaptor or the head unit. The fuse blew at the head unit, and i replaced it, had problems every since (was a few hours ago).

Should be in ICE, but im working on the car to get it looking half decent inside for Trax. Anyone help out??

PS, I've taken all the doorcards out, re-glued them, and are putting em back in too

Hmmn, sounds odd...

If I remember rightly there's a reset switch somewhere on the Pioneer head units isn't there? I'd check all the wiring, make sure that's ok then try the reset switch and see if that does anything?

Nice one Trotty, i'll go have a ganders, i've seen it on there.

Dan, nahh, not got em, found an old cardbored template though Try doing that first (then the aid of staples n sissors), trim the carbored around the inside of the car, staple it all together to make a template, then i got some cheap plywood (think its called that, soft thin wood), made a basic template, then just drew round it on a big peice off wood, cut it out, then cut it down the middle.

Yeah, was quite a few hours work, but remember, im only doing the rear of the car. Look at the dash, that probably took up about half of the hours worked, then the cards. The rear of the car probably only took them about 100hours.
