cheers snowy, but that subs really powerful considering the amp

do pioneer do a relatively cheap amp to power that sub?

also would you recommend that sub in a ported or sealed enclosure?

I would say to get a good 800RMS amp to run that beast. The amps are the expensive bit. BUT its worth getting a good one.

As to port it or not. It really depends on you. What do you want from the system?? If you listen to lots of low sweeping music then port it. If its dancey stuff then keep it sealed for punchey bass.

Hope this made some sence, it did in my head.

i do listen to sweepy stuff, but i can't stand boomy bass if ya get me, and im worried that a ported enlosure will lose some of the clarity...

sorry just been researching, and i can't afford an amp with about 800RMS!

have to find a decent sub to go with the kenny 1000W mono.

im thinking possibly the kicker, they have a good rep, like the sound of the one i heard down halfords, but it wasn't really in ma car so, and other recommendations?

How about pushing the amount you wanna spend up a notch.

What about 180-200 notes on a sub?? Thats way you can get some JL Audio, Rockford, Boston, Kicker L5/L7. the list just goes on mate.

I bought a JBL power series 12" 1600w max 400w RMS sub for £180 and I'm running it off a Kenny 7201 1x460wRMS amp. Sound wicked.

cheers snowy,

i could probably up the budget on the sub if i kept to the Kenwood amp plan, so sumin like the rocky foss 2212 would work well with it then?
