hi guys if i was to put in a filter in my engine that pumps more air into the engine would it make it go faster?

What filter you thinkin of getting? A performance panel filter will increase air flow a bit.

well my mate bought one for £70 i fink it was K9 something. His car is a 1.2 and it now seems as good as a 1.4 which is not bad.

Induction kit is set properly wi cold air feeds and heatshield etc..maybe 3,4,5 bhp...if your lucky though..

So NO WAY a filter is going to take a 1.2 to 1.4 territory
Take it you talking 1.2 /1.4 16v engines yeah..

doesn't always make your car faster, if you fit an induction kit you may find that it sucks in the heat from the engine. Your better off getting a panel filter withand drilling the box

Fit it properly with a heatshield and cold air ducting and stops it sucking in some of the hot air..Not all like...

1.2's just aren't worth getting performance mods for.
They are cars that go from a - b and nothing more
