In first gear my car doesnt seem to be moving til i hit 3000 rpm anyone know any reason why its doing this? culd it be something to do with shell optimax?

ive had same kind of problems sometimes,sometimes not.
could be idlevalve or throttle position switch or both.
or then its not either of them...
or some loose cable like some earthing or so.

you mean the egr valve? is it out of use now?

nah it was fixed last week,its ok now i put some castrol gtx in and seemed to stop was quite weird :S

I get irregular acceleration and sometimes a loss of power from a standstill.
Doesn't seem to happen with optimax!

mikeH,ive had sometimes same problem but i suggest in my car that it is the TPS or throttle position swich. its symptoms are really bad sometimes, push the pedal to the foor and it dont move and then it goes like a rocket,all of a sudden!!
