im puttin thispost up for a mate he has a 1.4sri 8 valve k reg. the guy working on his car says he needs the front exhaust pipe replaced cause its corroded but hes wanting £120 for it because he says u need a cat aswell cause its connected up but i thought this was dodgy cause it passed an mot bout a month ago and passed the emissions test no bother so the cat isnt broken wat u's think? cant the pipe just be changed without touching the cat

i went to get a price for a new downpipe at vauxhalls and they wanted £110. so if you get a new cat as well thats a good price

on mine, its the 16v, the down pipe is connected to the cat im sure
