when you plug in your new drive does it recognise it alongside the older drive? as a slave to the master drive?

what you can do is boot up as normal from the other hard disk, and slave the new one, make sure you format the new disk and give it a Master Boot Record. then when in windows copy all of the C: drive to the new drive using explorer. make sure you copy everything in one go. then boot using the new disk as master. let me know what happens.
